Alright so I have had a few crazy bathroom experiences and though this one was not near as bad as my “Wal-Mart Bathroom Mix-up” it was pretty embarrassing.
This morning I went to a book store to get a book for a research project. I let Bryle play in the children’s area and because I was I bored I drank an entire bottle of water. I try to avoid having to use a public restroom when I am alone with Bryle because she wants to touch EVERYTHING. So here I am mid stream trying to pee as fast as I can when Bryle opens the door and runs out. As if it is not bad enough that my door is now wide open, the door to the bathroom is also propped open with a trash can. I freak out because I know she is going to head straight the door so I jump of the toilet and try to reach her before she makes it too far. I am doing this while trying to pull up my jeans in which I am not successful. Bryle is just slightly out of my reach so I take a half step out of my stall to get her and guess what? That’s right, someone walks in and there I am pants at my knees letting the world she my girl parts… ahh! I stepped back in the stall using Bryle to cover me up and close the door while giving a little shout. I tried to apologize to my poor victim but she never responded. I deiced to just finish peeing and get the heck out of there!!
Ok, so that is how my day started but it did not stop there. This afternoon while I was preparing dinner, Bryle comes to the kitchen cleaning her mouth with a piece of wet toilet paper. She often does this as she loves to clean. Bryn had just washed up to have her afternoon snack so I assumed she had left the water running just a bit. I went to the kids’ bathroom and the water was off so I rush back to the kitchen to finish dinner.
It takes me another minute to ask myself just how that paper got wet. I tracked down Bryle who at this point is in her room cleaning everything with more wet toilet paper. I ask her where she got the water from and she quickly takes me to my bathroom. Of course you all saw this coming right? Well, it was not just toilet water. Bryn had gone pee in that toilet and had not flushed so my child bathed herself and her room in pee right out of the toilet.
The worst part of this situation was that I felt I should call poison control just to be sure that Bryle would be ok. I know that pee is sterile when you first go but it quickly grows bacteria so I wanted to be sure (I won’t tell Brad I called because he would make fun of me!). The guy from poison control said that if it had been adult urine she would have needed to be seen because adults pee is less sterile and the bacteria grows much faster. He then told me just to be glad she had not eaten poop… he gets those calls often… yuck!
So here a few picture of Bryle with her
soaking wet shirt showing me where she got her water from!
