Beating the Heat

I moved to Georgia to escape the Florida heat but it seems that it has found me. This summer has been hot but the worst part is the unbearable humidity. Our family loves to be out doors so this weather has been an issue all summer. In May we fenced our entire back yard so that the girls can explore on their own but the heat has limited their adventures. We still spend most of our mornings outside yet this still leaves us the entire afternoon stuck indoors. Being indoors can sure be fun when you have two young girls and that is just what we have been doing.

One of our favorite places to visit is Jump 4 Joey which is filled with inflatable slides, obstacle courses, and jumping pits. The greatest thing about this place is that adults can play and fit in everything. As you can tell from the picture, we have just as much fun as the kids. Bryn and Bryle have both been playing at these type of places since they could hardly walk so they can do it all. Not only is this a fun, cool way to spend our summers (and winters when it is too cold) but there is no better exercise around.

Another one of our favorite spots is the Atlanta Children's Museum, Imagine It. This place is designed for kids to learn through play. They have a fruit market, a grocery store which has a loading truck, sand, painting, dress up, water fun, and much more. The girls just go wild in that place. Bryn & Bryle love every part. Here are a few pictures of our last visit; Bryn & Bryle unloading a truck and Bryn in a garden that she planted.

We have also enjoyed the free summer movies at our local theater. During summer break they offer a wide verity of free movies on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For Bryn the best part is the that she can get a free popcorn and soda with a can food donation! Bryle is of course to young for the movies but it gives Brad and I some alone time with each child. Brad and Bryn enjoy the movies much more then I do (I do not have the attention span to watch a movie in one setting) so I send them as much as I can.

Summer is almost over so if you are looking for us this fall you are sure to find us in our backyard or swinging on the front porch. The kids will be on some kind of adventure and I will have my head in a textbook.
